Going green gets employees clean commuting
Perkins+Will, a leading architecture practice in Midtown Atlanta, wanted to internally match the sustainable design principles upon which it was founded. To achieve that end, the company partnered with Midtown Transportation Solutions and introduced a Green Operations Plan to educate employees on how to live a sustainable lifestyle.
To encourage employees to walk, bike and carpool, Perkins+Will provides employees with a hybrid car for use during the day. The company also offers employee incentives to encourage alternate commuting and hosts monthly “Lunch and Learn” seminars on the topic of sustainability.
As a result of the program, almost 40 percent of employees use some form of alternate transportation to commute.
